The Big Launching

I promised my father-in-law, Steve, I would make a blog entry about his big accomplishment of refinishing this fishing boat. He bought it November 2008, so it took about a year to finish it. We celebrated by having this big boat launching party on October 19th of this year. I don't actually have a before picture of his boat, but trust me, it looked nothing like the finished product. Steve gave a speech about his journey and then told us what he decided to name the boat. He decided on "Sea Biscuit," after one of his favorite books. The theme, or should I say moral, of the story is, "just because a life is a little broken up, doesn't mean you have to throw that life away." Good thing he thought there was potential in this boat, anyone else really would have thrown it away! It's pretty amazing how good it looks now! It looks brand new.

These are all the people who came for the big event. Many friends of Nancy and Steve's and Geoff (Cam's brother), his wife Erin and us.

Putting it in the lake, "is is going to float?!" was the big question that evening. And yes, it did.

I was brave and trusting enough to be one of the 1st to get in.

Bonny's Visit Oct. 7-13, 2009

So Bonny's visit was over two months ago, but I'm going to blog about it anyways. I still have a lot of catching up to do! I had been wanting Bonny to come visit since having Connor, then especially after I moved. I figured having her come to help me decorate my new home would be the perfect opportunity. I was able to convince her (or should I say her husband Chad) to come by offering to buy 1/2 her ticket. It worked, and she came from October 7th - 13th. That was just about a week after we moved in, so perfect!

Bonny was so good with the boys! She probably the best aunt in the world! She went with us to our first Sunday in our new ward. There were a couple of people who though that she was actually Cade's mom b/c she was so good w/ him. She took him out in the hall when he acted up and even changed his diaper w/o me asking! She was great. They were really surprised to find out he was actually mine, is that a bad thing or a good thing?

I think this picture is cute. Bonny is always so spontaneous. She saw sunflowers on the side of the road, at night, and had me turn around so she could pick me one.

Saying goodbye....a sad sad day. :( We loved having her here. Not only was she the best sister and aunt while she was here, but she is quite the Interior Designer! Pictures of that to come.

Halloween 2009

These boys are so funny together. They're really starting to interact with each other a lot. Cade still, obviously, does not like to put his arm around his little brother though. These are they're Halloween outfits for the daytime (loaned to us by Bonny). Cade's shirt says, "Old Navy" written with skeletons and Connor's shirt says, "Daddy's Little Monster."

This was Connor's first Halloween! He was soo excited!

Thanks to Bonny again, my boys had some really adorable costumes this year! Cade was Pluto, the dog, and Connor was a lion, which many people asked if he was the cowardly lion ;)

Connor made the cutest little lion!

He loved watching every one trick-or-treat, he was wonderful. Someone even tried to give him some candy, I couldn't figure out if she thought he was older than what he really was or what!? She actually tried to hand it to him, when he didn't grab it she put it on him, haha.

Cade trick-or-treating. He loved getting candy. At first he was a little hesitant, but eventually he really got the hang of it. He loved the idea of going to the doors and getting candy, he couldn't get enough of it. He learned to grab candy out of the bowls on his own, and then tried to go back for 2nds or even 3rds sometimes. As skinny as he is, he sure loves candy!

We went around with Cameron's brother Dave, his wife Lisa and their kids, Mason and Ellie. We had a great time together. Cade was eagerly waiting for his candy!

We all met up at Cameron's parents house, Nancy and Steve, to go around their neighborhood. They give out full size candy bars and lots of chocolate there ;)

The fam at the end of the night! My hair was a bit crazier and I had a cool eyeliner design at the beginning of the night, but you get the idea. Cam wore some tattooed sleeves, but he took them off earlier in the night.

After we went home our friends, Landon and Merideth, along w/ their son Owen, came over and we ate popcorn and watched a scary movie. It was a wonderful day. I love Halloween!
