Finally Christmas Day!

Cade was the first to wake up, so he came in our room and patiently waited for Connor to join us. Finally he woke up and Cade went to get him, then checked out the window to see if Santa was still outside.

Then Connor joined him.

Just what he asked Santa for! A red bike!

The reindeer nibbled at Cade's carrots and left him a little treat ;) We pointed it out to Cade and asked him what it was. He said, "poo poo" looked closer and said, "No, raisins!" Then he walked off like nothing was unusual about it.

My gift from the boys. They wanted to pick out something from the dollar section at Target for me, this is what they chose. Cade saw it in a little bag under the tree, grabbed it and brought it to me.

Cade has been asking for a piggy bank for months now. Finally Santa brought him one and Connor got a Rhino Bank. He also put 2 quarters in each bag so they could put money in them right away.

And finally they gave them some building blocks. These are their first blocks, another big hit.

Santa also brought the boys some more toys for their work bench Papa and Grandma gave them last year for Christmas.

But first, all the shoes I got!! My parents gave me the boots on the left and my in-laws got me the boots on the right along w/ the boat shoes on the top left. Cameron got me all the rest...he actually apologized that he only got me shoes. haha I told him that is not something to feel bad about at all! All the shoes were found on my pinterest (except for the boat shoes, Cam picked those out all by himself).

Connor's new church outfit. I bought their ties from a lady who makes them and then went to Kid to Kid and found matching shirts and vests! They worked out perfect!

After church and kid's naps we went to Dave and Lisa's house (cam's brother) for dinner. The kids had so much fun together. They gave the boys this fun Toy Story fishing game.

They made forts, one for the boys and one for the girls.

They could've played w/ these light sabers all night! (well they practically did) Mason said he loved this picture b/c he thought he looked cool, I have to agree.

Then we finished off the night w/ ice cream and homemade apple pie. Yum! Thanks Dave and Lisa for having us over! We had a great time.

The next morning the boys had a great time playing w/ all their new toys. These were the pjs I originally got them for Christmas Eve, but later I found the Buzz and Woody ones and couldn't pass them up.

We went to Joe's Crab Shack for Dinner Christmas Eve. The boys loved the indoor play center.

Once we got home, we all got to open one gift. The boys were really excited...although Cade kept saying he was tired and wanted to go to sleep (he knows Santa only comes when he's asleep). That was until he got the gift.

He decided he had to run upstairs to get his Woody Hat. He even slept w/ it (and you'll see later that he even brought it down Christmas Morning).

As as Buzz had his PJs on, he yelled, "Fly!" And ran around the room.

We started reading The Night Before Christmas last year on Christmas Eve. This year we continued this tradition before putting the boys to bed.

The boys decided they had to put treats out for Santa.

And Cade even thought of the Reindeer. He decided it would be best to put carrots outside.

Cade then decided he needed to get another carrot, broke it and said the little carrot was for the little reindeer and the big was was for big reindeer. Very thoughtful right?

December Activites (Lot's of pictures)

While I was at the mall Friday Dec. 9th I came across my old roomie, Rachelle!! Good thing she was paying attention to ppl around her and said something when she saw me, I was totally overwhelmed by the boys bad behavior. We were roomies Summer of 2003. It was good to catch-up, if only for 2 minutes.

For Family Home Evening the 12th, we went to Thanksgiving Point and saw their Christmas lights and stopped by to visit a couple of Santa's Reindeer and get Ice cream and Steamers.

Merry Christmas! This is what I went for for our Christmas gifts this year. I made Pumpkin bread, covered it and wrapped it in coffee liners. I was pleased w/ the results, I'm just grateful for Pinterest and their cute ideas.

Our Ward Party was last Friday, Dec. 16h. We had lots of Ham, Turkey and yummy sides. Afterwards we had to sing for Santa to come in. These were the boys while we were singing and waiting.

Cade ran off and wouldn't go near Santa, so I got him a candy cane from Santa. Afterward, I made him thank Santa, he fist bumped him and told him he wanted a bike for Christmas...we'll see if he follows through ;)

Monday Geoff, Erin and Cora visited for a little bit before leaving for NY for Christmas. Cade loved helping feed Cora.

Tuesday I met up w/ a couple of friends, Lori and Jamie, and their kids at the mall. For the first time ever I let the boys ride the train that goes around the mall. They loved it! They're all in the blue train.

Temple Square Lights

Saturday, Dec. 10th, we all went to Temple Square to see the lights together. Geoff, Erin and Cora, Us and Dave, Lisa, Mason, Cassidy and Ellie. It was fun to all go together. It was so cold, but we did a great job at bundling up this year. The boys looked extra comfy!

Cookie Exchange Party

My friend Amy asked me to help host a Cookie exchange party Dec. 3rd. It was the first time I'd ever heard of such a party. It turned out to be a lot of fun! We all voted for the best cookies, along w/ other categories. The winners all got a gift bag filled w/ goodies to use in the kitchen.

Everyone brought 2 dozen cookies, 1 dozen to put out and 1 dozen for everyone to split and take home.

Amy had these darling glass milk jugs and striped paper straws...they were a huge hit!

I made this...total cost...$1!

More Christmas Decor...

This is especially for my family. My mom was supposed to visit me this past week and I was looking forward to her seeing my house all decked out for the holiday. So, she's asked me to put up pictures.

I ordered these great stocking for JcPenney earlier this year, I ordered these 3 and 3 more green w/ red. Well, they sent these and told me the other 3 were back ordered, then they canceled it all together! So, I'm stuck w/ 3...3!! If I knew they were going to do that, I would've ordered 6 of this color, or canceled the order completely, ugh. So, that explains the 3 nice stockings, and the one odd ball stocking.

Oh Christmas Tree...

We finally got around to decorating the Christmas tree Wed. Nov. 30th. I usually like to do it the weekend after Thanksgiving, but we were sick for a few days. So here we are...

I was already decorating the tree when the boys woke up from their naps. When Cade walked down the stairs and saw it he said, "Oh Mommy, that's so pretty. Good job." After I was down to the last few ornaments, I let the boys put on a few. They had a good time.

We tried to get the boys to help out, but I think they were too scared to be lifted up that high.

November Random Pics

Oh! I forgot to mention...right before I went to AZ I got my hair done. I (w/ some persuasion from my friend/hair stylist Annie) decided to die my hair a little closer to my natural hair color. So, I'm now a brunette, welcome back! I'm liking it right now...we'll see how long it lasts. BTW, I took this picture on my phone to send to my family to show them what it looked like. I'm kind of making fun of my 2 teenage sisters, you know how teenagers take pictures? Well, that's me here!

The boys were being really quiet one day while I was cooking dinner, and usually these boys are right at my feet bugging me the whole time. Usually that's not a good thing, you know when they're being too quite, so I checked on them...and this is what I found! I only wish they would get along like this everyday!

Yep, I got Cade to change Connor's diaper! haha Connor wanted nothing to do w/ Cade doing this, I actually did pretty much everything, but it made for a good picture!

Tuesday before Thanksgiving, November 22nd, Cade's preschool class had a Thanksgiving party. He was so excited when I told him he was going to have a party. He said, "Yay! I get to be Buddy again?!" (He was thinking he was going to have another Halloween Party and dress up as Woody.) But, instead he got to be a pilgrim and he had a great time.

Thanksgiving '11

This was my 3rd year in a row hosting Thanksgiving, but this year, by far, we had the largest group. We ended up having 10 adults and 10 children (plus a 3 week old). It was crazy, but a lot of fun. These are the best pictures I could come up w/, I guess I was very distracted by everything else going on.

We actually had 3 tables this year, this main table, another table to fit 4 adults and 2 children, and a children's table, I wish I had gotten a picture of all the tables side, by side. This was my first time using paper plates and plasticware...I finally gave in. I was sick of the horrible clean-up afterward, and it actually made it a lot easier! (Plus we had a lot of help afterward, thanks ya'll.)

I used the same recipe I made last year, turned out great, if I do say so myself.

Right out of the oven, I browned it a lot more than last year.

This year I planned projects for the kids, they made Pilgrim hats (I wanted to take a picture of the kids wearing them all together, but it didn't happen. I didn't even get a picture of any of the girls hats.) and place mats.

Usually Cameron is the turkey carver, and I think he started out cutting, but his cousin Micheal took over.

The spread, yum! We had such great food! And it was so great, having so many ppl really pays off, I feel like I wasn't slaving away in the kitchen as much as I have in the past. We had Martha Stewart's Herb Roasted Turkey, Mashed Potatoes, Gravy (Dave made it, it was amazing!), Green Bean Casserole, Rolls, Scalloped Potatoes, Sweet Potatoes, Homemade Stuffing, Frozen Fruit Salad, and Deviled Eggs.

Our friends the Strouds, Susan, Vince, Ryan, Austin and, the new little guy, Cole. It was fun to have friends come over too!

Our boys are good little buddies. I tried so hard to get them to sit still so I could take a picture, this is the best I could get....at least they were all looking, haha.

Arizona Trip Part II

After the zoo we went back to the Longs. We had Cameron's Grandparents over for dinner, it was nice to visit w/ them. While we all talked after eating, the boys played w/ toys. They were so good.

Wednesday we went to eat at The Indian Village for tacos.

We totally thought it'd be warm enough to swim while there, but we were wrong. Apparently we brought in a cold front (it had warmed up a little since we first got there, don't get me wrong, it was perfect weather to just hang outside, just a little too breezy to swim). But, after the boys naps Wed. we took them to the pool. We thought we'd try it out, at least once. The boys only lasted 30 minutes and wanted to go home.

Thursday we all went to watch some Fall Ball.

Cade got a ball! Not a foul ball, no. But, it was given to him b/c: While Nancy and I were standing in line for food, Cade walked off. I looked for a second for him and saw Cameron down a way and figured he had just gone down to him. I thought nothing of it again until a couple of men came up to me and asked if Cade (who had tears in his eyes) was mine. I apologized and thanked them for finding him. I felt so bad! A few minuted later the men came back w/ a ball and asked Cade if he wanted it (they worked there). He was so excited, and so was I ;) I thought it was so nice.

Thursday night (I didn't get a picture) Nancy and Steve watched the boys for us so we could meet up w/ our friends Lindsey and Joe. We went to dinner for BBQ, walked around the mall then went back to their place and played games. We played this game called Scribblish, it was tons of fun. I'm not going to explain the rules, but it's kind of like the game "telephone" but through pictures. The top phrase and picture is what it was supposed to be, but as it went, you can see how it changed. Cam's picture was a huge hit, can you guess which one was his? We didn't get home until past 1 AM. We had so much fun hanging out w/ them again. Thanks Longs for babysitting!

Friday we hung out at the house and the boys had a great time playing w/ rocks. Saturday we helped move a bunch of furniture and then the Longs babysat while the boys napped so Cameron and I could go shopping. We left Sunday and made it home in about 10 1/2 hours. The boys were really good! I was surprised b/c for some reason our portable dvd player wouldn't work, so I thought for sure they would whine and complain, but they didn't! Connor was the one who didn't nap on the way home at all, and you know what? I think he talked the whole time! Either to us, to Cade or just to himself, he just talked and talked. Anyways, we had a fun time. I'm glad we were able to visit w/ Grandma and Papa for a week, thanks ya'll for letting us come!

Arizona Trip Part I

Cameron had a week left of vacation time, so we decided to go visit the Longs in AZ. We decided to go Nov. 5th-13th. I couldn't have asked for the boys to be any better than they were while traveling. They were so good!

Other than Connor getting sick in the middle of the night and throwing up. He only threw up the one time but we had him sleep in our room and we got hardly any sleep. So, we slept in and woke up to it snowing, ugh. We got a late start, at about 9:30 and we were on our way. A few hours in Connor threw up all over himself, so we had to stop and clean him and his carseat up. But that was the only other time he threw up, luckily. Poor guy, it's horrible traveling while sick at your stomach! I really though he had gotten over it since he only threw up that one time, honest.

Cade was great! Besides never taking a nap, but he watched his movies.

We stopped at a McDonalds right outside of Vegas. The boys had a great time playing and having a short break from the car.

We got there Saturday night, Sunday went to church and then had our friends, the Deans over for Dinner. Then Monday we pretty much hung out some more, did a little grocery shopping and that's it. And Tuesday, Cameron decided that he and his dad wanted to go to watch some Fall Ball and took Cade along. Nancy packed him a backpack full of snack and toys. Cade had a great time and was very well behaved.

While they did that I decided to take Connor to meet up w/ my friend Lindsey and her son Gabe at the Phoenix Zoo, ranked one of the top 5 in America. (They just recently moved to Mesa a couple of months ago.) The next bunch of pictures are of the zoo.

My Lil' Toothless Wonder

Remember this post? At the end it told you all about Connor's loose tooth. Well...

This would be the last day, Friday, Nov. 4th, Connor would ever be seen w/ two front teeth (at least for a few years) because of...

this little guy! Cade was mad at Connor for something and decided to throw his sippy cup at Connor's face. Connor began to cry and...

this is what I found. Blood was dripping and Connor's tooth was nearly knocked out.

We could push and back and forth completely :( Connor couldn't stop playing with it with his tongue. I knew it had to be pulled. Cameron got home soon after this incident happened to I made him try and pull it. He tried for a while but couldn't get it out. For some reason something was still holding it in. But, I was too afraid that Connor would go to sleep and choke on his tooth. So, I took over...w/ tears in my eyes (ok I might've been sobbing), I finally pulled it out.

I was so sad! My poor little guy will now have to go toothless for a few years. But, w/ this b/c Connor could care less, hardly even notices. haha Whenever asked about it, Cade steps up and takes credit for the missing tooth. I feel bad for both of them, Cade felt so bad that he knocked the tooth out. Poor guy, he'll have to live w/ the guilt. Anyways, introducing my toothless 2 1/2 year old!!

Happy Halloween!

To start out the morning I made the boys special Halloween pancakes. Cade got a jack-o-lantern and a moon.

Connor got a ghost and a cat (I know you can't tell what they are, but they loved them!)

I also made them a special Halloween Lunch.

I made this for our candy to leave on our porch while we went trick-or-treating. I got the idea from here.

Connor dressed up as Ernie, complete w/ a clown nose, orange face paint, lots and lots of gel and hairspray, black hair spray paint, Kid2Kid sweater, orange stretchy gloves, rolled up jeans, and tennis shoes.

He's such a cutie!

Cade as Bert complete w/ a yellow beanie cap w/ yarn woven through for his hair and unibrow, yellow face paint, clown nose painted orange, Kid2Kid sweater, yellow stretchy gloves, khakis, and dress shoes.

One thing I would've changed would have been to make the unibrow right at the tip of the hat instead of a little above.

Before trick-or-treating our neighborhood had a party. We roasted hot dogs and everyone brought drinks, appetizers and desserts. Connor seriously sat and ate pretty much the whole time! I kind of forgot to take off his gloves and he got food all over them :(

Out trick-or-treating. We ended up painting Cade's nose orange. We didn't have red or we would've painted Connors, he wouldn't keep his nose on either.

Erin and Geoff met up w/ us for trick-or-treating. The boys were so excited to have Cora join us.

Pre-Halloween Celebrations

We've had a busy Halloween season, here are Pre-Halloween celebration pictures.

Tuesday, October 25th, Cade had his Preschool Halloween party. He dressed up in his last years costume, as Woody (or Buddy, as he still calls it).

He had a ton of fun! He first walked into class to a Halloween movie and tons of blowup decorations. I'm not sure of what else they did while I was gone, but he got tons of candy and look at the cute spider hat he made.

Friday, October 28th we had our Ward Fall Festival. It was a chili cook off and trunk or treating. Can you guess what Connor was dress up as? Look at that creepy guy behind Connor!

Saturday, Oct. 29th, we went to Thanksgiving Point's Barnyard Boo w/ my friend Jamie and her daughter Emmy. They had a lot of fun activities w/ candy prices set up throughout the farm, they boys had a lot of fun.

Connor is always so afraid to ride the Pony's at 1st and then ends up being just fine. This was taken toward the beginning haha.

Halloween day to come!

Witches Night Out & A Haunted Circus

A group of girls and I went to Witches Night out at Gardner Village Saturday, October 15th. I went last year and thought it was so much fun that I wanted to go again. I wore the same costume I wore last year, w/ a few changes, including the hat.

All the girls who went to dinner. We first went to dinner at Johnny Carino's. A friend of Lindie's (front Left) met up w/ us, Adriane was so fun! Very outgoing and not shy at all. Three of the girls could only make it for this part of the night (Emily, Jamie and Natalie), and then went back to their busy lives. It was fun having dinner w/ just the girls. Everyone was staring at us in the Restaurant, but it was still fun.

All of us posing at Gardner Village. It was so fun to go out w/ all of these great girls! I had a great time, hopefully everyone else did too, and I'll for sure being going next year too.

This year we decided to go to Strangling Brother's Haunted Circus. We got 1/2 off tickets online, which made it a great deal. This huge clown was trying to scare everyone, but I made him pose in a picture w/ us.

We went w/ our friends Gabe and Kychelle. Oh, we first went to dinner at Good Wood BBQ and then headed to the haunted circus. The clown wouldn't get out of our picture, he really wanted to pose w/ us.

Finally he left us. Overall I thought it was a lot of fun. Our friends were totally freaked out and thought it was the best they've ever been to. But, I personally thought it should've been longer, but I think that about all haunted houses. It was very well put together and thrilling (I got startled 2 or 3 times, which is great for me)!

Connor's Big Boy Bed!

We decided to switch Connor over to a big boy bed Thursday, October 13th. If it were up to me, I would've kept Connor in his crib forever! He still hadn't figured out how to climb out of his bed and he loved it. But, it was broken on the right hand, back side corner. So, I had to keep it together by leaning it in the corner of the 2 walls. But, b/c of this Connor was able to easily play w/ his blinds and look out of the window, so the blinds kept breaking! ugh! And he kept kicking the broken side of his bed and it made a hole/dent in the wall. Does this make any sense at all? Anyways, so it was either buy him a new crib or move him into a toddler bed.

I set it up earlier in the day, he wasn't very excited about it. When he saw what I was doing, he pointed to his crib and said, "No I want my bed, not that bed."

By the time bedtime rolled around, he got a bit more excited, with Cade's help...

Cade was so much more excited than Connor! haha

He even kissed Connor good night. It was so sweet!

I told Connor and told him to close his eyes and go to sleep. He certainly pretended to do so!

I only caught him getting up once. I heard his door open, I walked over to it and found him just standing there. I got onto him and told him big boys are to stay in their beds. He said, "Ok Mommy." Got sad (as shown here) and went to sleep. Never heard another peep until morning. He's really liking his bed now, he's doing really well w/ it too.

Cornbelly's

Monday, October 10th, we went to Cornbelly's at Thanksgiving Point for FHE with our friends the Schramms. It was fun hanging out w/ them and letting our kids get to know each other a little better.

They had these huge bouncy things, 1 for young kids, 1 for older kids, and 1 for adults. Here's Connor enjoying the young kid bouncer.

Cade went over to the older kid bouncer, and Connor decided to join in. Just to give you an idea of how huge this one was....Connor had to climb up it.

It started sprinkling. But we still had fun.

Oh my gosh! I had to go through the bouncer things w/ the boys (which normally I wouldn't mind, but it was all wet)! Anyways, this one I felt like I was climbing out of a birth canal...it was horrible! Look closely behind me, that kid was pushing me through, obviously I was going to slow for him. Actually, I didn't mind, b/c I was scared I was going to get stuck it was such a tight squeeze!

The last one I didn't go through w/ Cade, but he went w/ Ben and one of his daughters. They came out and we waited probably a good 5 minutes for Cade, who never showed up! Ben had to go back in and get him (the last part was too hard for him to climb up to get out). Thanks Ben. This was Cade coming out, he was very excited.

They had a pig race, but before starting they asked for volunteers. They chose Cade, and they put us in charge of cheering for one of the pigs. I can't remember the name of our big, but it was something like Sponge Bob Square Pig or something.

After that we went on a tractor train ride.

And a very creepy clown. The boys were terrified! They had a haunted house outside of the entrance of the train ride, and this is what we came out to.

I think Cade was still thinking the clown was going to come after him, haha.

Lastly, we got to ride horses.

Connor was so tired he cuddled w/ me, I loved it of course!

And Cade got to ride on Daddy's shoulders. We had a great time, can't wait til next year!

We decided to go to Cabella's one Saturday. The boys love it there.

haha They thought they were really doing something, but as you can see this machine was out of order. I love free entertainment!

I almost forgot! I hardly ever get to go home and visit my family, so when people come all the way from TN to Utah and actually go out of their way to come and visit me, it means a lot to me! It makes me feel like I'm at home, at least for an hour or so. The Sutherlands, a family from my home ward, came out to show their daughter, Sabrina, the BYU campus and all the UT sights. And, they came out of their way to come visit me! They first met me at my house, and I gave them a tour (as requested by Momma), and then we went to the Thanksgiving Points Deli for Ice Cream. They have $.50 icecream cones and kids get free kid's cones. Brother Sutherland was so nice to treat us. And it was so nice to sit and talk to them for an hour or so. It was so fun to catch up on them and what's been going on in TN. Thanks Sutherlands for coming to visit me, it really meant a lot ;)

Guy's & Gal's Nerd Night

Wednesday, September 20th, I helped head up a combined YW activity. The girls helped come up w/ the idea months in advance, I came up w/ the idea to have a Daddy Daughter activity, and they were determined they to have it be a Nerd Night. So we ended up calling the night, Guy's and Gal's Nerd Night. We put a lot of planning into this activity. I thought it turned out great! I was very disappointed in the numbers (only 5 girls showed up), but it was still a lot of fun.

We had several activities planned for that evening. This one is: You look Hairy Pretty Tonight. The guys had to fix the girls hair. haha It was very entertaining. The girls decided to decorate the Bishops head w/ shaving cream.

Orange You Feelin' Cheesy?

The guys wore shower caps covered in shaving cream and the girls had to compete to see who could get the most cheese puffs on the guys head. They had 30 seconds or so to throw the cheese puffs and try to get them to stick to their heads. The girls had tons of fun doing this, the guys? Probably not as much :)

We blind folded the Gals and gave them shaving cream, which they then had to rub on their guy's faces then "shave" them (with popsicle sticks).

Pick Your Nose.

We had the guys stand behind a sheet w/ nose holes and the gals had to pick whose noses belong to who. The girls had a turn behind the sheet too.

We also had 2 other activities which we didn't get any pictures of. When everyone first came in they all got to decorate frames to put their pictures from the night in. We called this activity "Freeze Frame." The other game was called, "To Tie or Knot to Tie." The guys had a few minutes to teach their gals how to tie a tie. The girls then had a contest (w/o any help from their guys) to see who could tie the tie on their guys the fastest and a 2nd award for the most accurately tied.

Michigan Trip

That's right, Cam and I actually got to go on a trip on by ourselves! This hasn't happened since before having kids (well, honestly we have had 1 night alone, but that's it!). So, we were very excited to have a nice vacation away from our kids, as much as we love our kids, it was nice. Our good friends, Janel and Derek, called us up several months ago begging us to come visit them. They had found amazing priced round trip tickets and invited us to go visit them in Michigan. Cam and I thought about it and realized there weren't very many opportunities to go on such a cheap vacation and w/o kids. So, before we did anything we asked Cam's brother, Geoff and his wife Erin if they'd be available to watch our kids for 5 days, and you know what?! They were happy to! So, we bought our tickets for September Wed. the 14th- Sun. the 18th. About a month prior to leaving, Cameron found out he had to go to Chicago Mon-Wed the same week of our trip for a conference. So, his company ended up letting him fly from Chicago to Michigan the day it ended. So, I had to fly on my own to Michigan, for the 1st time in years, I flew by myself, it was actually nice w/o kids. So, months of waiting, the time finally arrived and we were on our way to Ann Arbor, Michigan...

My layover was all the way in Houston, way out of the way I know (probably why it was so cheap). I was so excited to find Popeyes chicken, I had to take a picture. This is what I ate for lunch, and it was YUUMMY (KFC doesn't even compare). Cam and I arrived about 11 PM their time so we didn't do very much Wed. Night, we mainly stayed up even later talking.

Thursday we took a short bus ride to Michigan University and walked around campus, which is beautiful! And, had lunch. I love this shot of me and Janel.

Derek and Janel wanted to help us have a romantic getaway, so they found great priced hotel rooms in Mackinaw City. So, later that day we drove the 4 hrs and we arrived to this beautiful town. It was seriously breath taking! We took a moment to take a few pictures. Janel and Derek have a great camera and are getting really good at photography, so they took a lot of us. (This great one of Cameron was actually taken by me. The really good looking pics are from them.)

Love it! It's like it's straight out of the movies.

After taking a few pictures and looking around the town, we checked into our hotel and ate dinner at a family fun restaurant.

The next morning, we checked out and headed to take the ferry to Mackinac Island (pronounced the same way as the city). My first ever ferry ride! Beautiful views!

The houses and hotels are beautiful! I love the history of the island.

There are no cars allowed, so we rented bikes and road the 8 miles around the whole island. Our first stop was to see this beautiful historic church. Oh, it ended up being the perfect weather while we were on the Island, it was wonderful!

It was so fun to ride a bike again, it's been years! I felt like a little kid.

1/2 through our bike ride we came to a huge wooden staircase going up the side of the mountain, so we decided to go up. We found this beautiful overlook. The sun was really bright!

Don't you love how we match? Honestly, we didn't plan it (I might've done her hair, but that's it).

People wrote messages w/ rocks so you could see it from the overlook, so cool!

There were tons of fudge shops on the island. They all gave out free samples :)

We of course couldn't go to the island w/o visiting the Grand Hotel.

To go inside of the hotel you had to pay $10. The boys could care less about it, so Janel and I went in alone while the guys stayed outside.

This picture is so cute, I had to add it. A funny story...the tour didn't include getting to see any of the rooms, so we asked if we could, they said no. So when Janel and I noticed a door cracked, I of course had to knock on it to see if anyone was in there. We walked off quickly and hid until no one came to the door. Then, we went back and walked into the room :) Yep, I got the most for my money on this tour. So what did the rooms look like? Old but cute, probably original to what they looked like years and years ago. You're definitely paying to stay there b/c of the atmosphere, not the room.

I couldn't walk past a phone booth and not pay the proper respects to Christoper Reeves (the old Superman). He was also in the movie Somewhere in Time. After a few hours on the Island we drove back to Ann Arbor.

Saturday morning Cameron and Derek took off for a Michigan Football game. Janel and I did crafts, I taught her how to make fabric button earrings, while she taught me how to make a circle skirt (I'll add a picture of the skirt later, I forgot to take a picture).

That evening we went to one of the many Apple Orchards in town. We got to go w/ their two little girls, Brooklynn and Kate, they are such cuties!

We had donuts and hot Apple Cider, very yummy.

We had so much fun w/ Janel and Derek! It was such a fun, but quick, trip. I'm so glad we got to spend time w/ them in their town. Thanks ya'll for being such good hosts and making so many fun plans. We love ya'll, thanks for everything. And of course, this trip wouldn't have been possible if it weren't for Geoff and Erin watching our boys. Thank you so much, I hope you 2 realize how much we really do appreciate it. It was so nice leaving for a few days and not having to worry one bit about my boys, they love Geoff, Erin and baby Cora so much, it was perfect.

New Throw Pillows

Remember these? I made them about a year ago? Well I decided to give them a little makeover again :) I don't know if you know anything about Pinterest, but it's wonderful! I found so many tutorials for some amazing throw pillows. I finally decided on 3...

And here they are! This turned out to be the biggest sewing project I've ever done. I've never made ruffles before or such huge rosettes. It was quite a learning experience, and I am pretty happy w/ how they turned out. It took me a total of 3 days to finish. The orange one took me 1 1/2 days to finish alone, I guess I had a few technical difficulties. There are a few flaws in that one, but the other 2 I love! I like the orange one too, it's probably just b/c I know where I messed up that it bugs me :)

I reused the fabric for the green and orange pillows. I unstitched them and turned them into envelope pillow covers w/ a creamy fabric for the front. The 3rd one I redid all together. It turns out I did not like the previous fabric at all!

Day 1: I used the tutorial from 5 Days of Favorite Projects but decided to hem the ruffles prior to starting suggested by The House of Smiths. (I don't have a ruffle foot so I didn't follow her tutorial past that.) I was so excited for this pillow! I've always wanted to know how to ruffle! And, now I do ;) I'm pretty sure this one won't fall apart, the other 2...well they're a little iffy.

Day 2: I decided to redo this pillow all together. I found this fabric from Joann's Fabric, I love it! I pretty sure it's an outdoor fabric, so it's really durable and easy to wash off. I used the tutorial from Trey & Lucy. She is so cute, I love her style. She gave a video and step by step picture tutorial. There was a lot of hand stitching and machine sewing. I love this one! Hopefully the flower doesn't fall apart though..haha.

Day 2.5-3: I used the tutorial from Crazy Wonderful to make these 9 rosettes. Once I got a hang of making the flowers, it was really simple. But, my iron went out half way through and then my sewing machine starting acting up (due to setting I didn't realize I had it on), but after letting my iron sit over night and cool down, it got back to working and I finished it the 3rd day. I'm hoping these flowers don't fall apart either, we'll see! Hopefully I did enough to make them sturdy.

So, that's my latest project. I have other posts I should be doing prior to this, but I couldn't wait. I'm really excited w/ the results, like I said this is the biggest sewing project I've ever done. Is it ok to be proud of myself for a minute and share it? Hopefully you think so, b/c I'm hoping so!

Cade's 1st Day of Preschool!!

We decided to put Cade into preschool this year. I chose to put him in the Legacy Center Preschool, 2 days a week for 2 hrs/day. It's the cheapest I could find and they have a good enough curriculum, but I feel like for a 3 year old it's most important to gain social skills. His 1st day of school was Tuesday, Sep. 6th. He couldn't wait to start. He's loving it so far!

Ok, here's the story...That morning I told Cade to put his backpack on, so next thing I know Connor runs downstairs and comes back w/ his backpack, all ready to go. Sadly, he wasn't happy when I made him leave w/ me instead of stay w/ Cade.

Finding out I was leaving...he wasn't happy when I said bye. He started crying. But, by the time I walked out of the door he had forgotten all about me and was playing, not even looking at me anymore.

Connor and I went to Costco and the Library. We had a good time together :)

After preschool we went back to the Library. Cade said he had fun and said, "I was a good boy." :) He also told me he was scared, he thought I wasn't coming back :( He's fine now though! He knows I'll always be back to get him.

The Boy's 1st Dentist Appt

We got dental insurance a few months ago, and I finally decided it was time to take the boys to the dentist. So, last month I finally took them! They were so excited! They could not wait to go! I told them about the fish tank, the play center and the tv on the ceiling. They were so excited.

They loved the fish.

The guy dental assistant trying to get Cade use to the idea of the vibrating toothbrush thingy. He wanted nothing to do w/ it. And would not let the guy work on him at all.

But, she eventually had to switch w/ the guy, b/c for some odd reason Cade let her work on him. He was still very hesitant, but a lot better.

And the guy went to Connor. Connor was so good the whole time! I was amazed. The boys were so excited at the end to pick a prize and get a new toothbrush and toothpaste. It ended up that neither one had any cavities!

But, Connor (here's a story), last year fell on our kitchen tile and knocked a tooth loose (the top, middle, left tooth) and got a bad bloody nose. I took him to a dentist to have it checked out. He said it would be fine and probably tighten back in. We've noticed the tooth has gotten darker and is still quite a bit loose. But, I figured it was fine. So, when they took X-rays this time of his teeth they noticed there is no root to to his poor little tooth at all! The dentist said he has no idea how it's still hanging in there and hasn't fallen out. He said he can either pull it now, or we can wait for it to fall out. Either way, one is eventually going to have to happen. Probably fall out! Ugh! I am so sad to think of Connor's cute little front tooth falling out and him going years w/o one. I told him we'd just wait. I'm in no hurry to have a toothless hick running around. Poor baby! (This was the best picture I had to show you his tooth)

But, no cavities! Which is more than I can say for Cameron and I...we both had 3 each, all in molars. The first cavities I've ever had in my adult teeth (it's been 6-7 years since either one of us have gone to the dentist)! I had mine filled, and it turned out to be white fillings! The thing I feared most was to have silver in my mouth, and I didn't have to! Cameron will be getting his filled soon. Thank goodness for dental insurance!!

I found these next couple of pictures on my phone. These were from when Robby and Kelsey came to visit and we went swimming. We had lunch outside and the boys loved it. Especially our "beer!" haha At least that's what it looked like while they were drinking it, it's actually a Mexican Apple Beer (no alcohol of course!).

Papa and Grandma stayed w/ us their last night here in Utah before heading back to AZ. We loved having them, but were so sad to say goodbye. Papa always reads to the boys while visiting. Here he is w/ Cora and Connor.

I just had to show off my sister Bonny for a second. I've seen her bows on her blog before, but I have hardly seen any in person. She sent my sister-in-law, Erin, these bows for Cora. Aren't they adorable!? I love them!

Cam's brother, Dave, and his family invited us all over for Sunday dinner Sep. 4th. We all had an early celebration for Dave's birthday. Look at all the food Dave made for us!! It's all Korean food, and so good! I was so impressed I had to take a picture. He made everything homemade. I'm not even going to begin naming off the foods b/c I'd make a fool of myself trying to spell the names, or trying to remember what they're called. YUM! Thanks Dave and Lisa!

After dinner we all went outside to enjoy their beautiful yard. The kids had tons of fun w/ frisbees.

I had to add this picture b/c I thought it was a great picture of Cameron! I tried to crop myself out but it was too blurry. My explanation for wearing glasses is, allergies! Ugh they're so bad this year that I can't wear my contacts. Still can't! My eyelids have some bumps under them which make my contacts move around and then my eyes get all watery and gooey. These glasses are 9 years old, I never ever wear them! They are such an old prescription. But, since this picture I have gotten new glasses.

We love hanging out w/ family. We had a great time.

Last month I took the boys for their 2nd and 3rd year check ups. The Doctor thought she heard a slight murmur in Cade's heart. But, she wasn't sure. She said it was either nothing or very early on, where it would caught early enough that it would be ok. So...she told me to make an appointment w/ a pediatric cardiologist. I finally made an appointment for this month, September 10th (I just didn't feel worried enough, so I finally told myself I'd better make the appointment Just in case.) So, $50, a lot of questions, X-rays and room changes, I found out....Cade does have a very slight murmur. But, apparently it's very common in a lot of people, especially kids. It's like water running through a river bed, it's going to make noise, and that's what happening w/ his blood pumping through his heart. The doctor said the murmur will eventually go away. And not to treat him differently, b/c he's not, he is totally normal! So, that's the story :) I have a normal, healthy little boy.

Earlier this month we were enjoying the weather outside and out of no where it started pouring rain. The boys loved it! I let them play in it for a while. Cade was fearless.

This is about as far as Connor got in the rain, he ran out for a split second and ran right back into the garage. He was pretty proud of himself though ;p

Sunday the 11th we went on a family walk. This is how the boys decided to dress themselves. :) If you can't tell, Connor also has a backpack on and 2 different sandals, and Cade dressed himself up as "Buddy" (Woody). I have such funny little kids. I love these guys!

Happy 6th Year Anniversary!

Cameron and I just celebrated our 6th year anniversary Saturday, Aug. 20th. It seems like just yesterday we were sealed for all time and eternity that wonderful, hot, Summer day in the Nashville, TN temple. Cameron and I have so much fun together, he still makes me laugh everyday. We've had a wonderful 6 years together thus far. This year we didn't get to spend very much time together at all. :( He was still having to work the fair parking, so Erin and I decided to go up and visit our guys together. We had a great time! This was the most we got to see them in the 4 days they were gone.

It was so nice sitting around relaxing together, actually having time together w/ our hubbys. They had great, free stuff for kids to do.

Bachelorettes

Geoff and Erin spent a few nights w/ us while our husbands were working the Davis County Fair Parking, Wed. Aug. 17th - Sat. 20th. They were gone from 7-11 each day! ugh So, while they were gone, Erin and I got to spend a lot of time together. Her being around made it a lot easier being a single parent. We did lots to entertain ourselves!

We went to Thanksgiving Points Animal Farm.

And had to be the one to push Cora around. He surprisingly did a pretty good job.

I've never gone before when they've given horse and buggy rides on an actual old time buggy! It was fun! It's always been a huge buggy for tons of ppl.

The boys looooved having Cora around. Sometimes they tried to love on her a little too much, or tight. Friday, the 19th, was Geoff and Erin's 3rd year anniversary and mine and Cam's was Saturday, the 20th. Sadly none of us got to go out and celebrate, but we did visit them at the fair Saturday...

Family Visits

All the Long family got together for the first 2 weeks in August. Stacie and Brandon came all the way from WA and Geoff and Erin came back a little early from an internship in CA. The rest of us were already here in UT. We had a great time getting together! Papa Stan and Grandma Gale (Cam's Grandpa) came the second week so we could all celebrate Papa Stan's 90th birthday.

All the sister-in-laws met up at the Alpine Splash Pad Friday, Aug. 5th. Here are all the cousins.

When we were getting into our car Cade was eyeballing this tractor, so the guy who was driving it got off and asked if he'd like to get on. He was so excited!

Tues., Aug. 9th, we all decided to take advantage of the $2 Tuesdays at Thanksgiving Point. We started out at the Children's Gardens. The little girl to the right names herself the safety police and would tell any child climbing on the rocks or breaking any rules what to do. haha

Oh the children's garden has this fun Noah's Ark splash pad, the kids loved it.

After the gardens and a quick lunch at Del Taco we made our way over to the Dinosaur Museum. After losing Connor a couple of times and Cade freaking out a couple of times b/c he "thought" he was lost we still ended up having a lot of fun but, were all very tired.

We didn't get a picture of Lisa in this picture, b/c they had to leave early. This was me, Erin and Stacie.

Thursday we decided to meet up at Temple Square. Cam got to go to this activity b/c he works down the street.

Wednesday night at a Young Women's activity I learned how to make these flowers. I wore them the next day, my sister-in-laws commented on them so, I told them I could teach them the next day!

So, that next day Friday, August 12th, we all got together to celebrate Papa Stan's 90th birthday. Us girls sat around a couple hours making flowers. We had a lot of fun together.

We decided to get the boys a power wheels jeep. We found it at a garage sale at some friends house in our neighborhood. I told them I would love to get it for the boys but I doubt Cameron would do it. The next day at church they came up to me and told me Cameron wanted it! I guess I was wrong. haha So, we got it for a great deal, and the boys have loved it ever since.

Connor refuses to ride in it anymore now that he's been in a few collisions in it. His last straw was when Cade hit a curb at full speed and Connor flew over the windshield and stopped himself w/ his hands on the hood. Cade's getting better...

Saturday, Aug. 6th, we went out w/ our great friends, Lindsey and Joe to the Melting Pot and ended up going somewhere a little cheaper for the main entree. We were celebrating our anniversaries together and getting together one last time before they move :( Lindsey was my best friend growing up, we were inseparable, and Joe was Cam's best friend. We take all the credit for them meeting and hooking up. ;) They were married exactly a week before us. And, now they're moving to AZ! I am so sad to see them go. We love ya'll!

A couple of people decided to put together a water day in their combined backyards to celebrate back-to-school. It was so fun! The women sat around and talked while the kids had a blast in the water.

Private?

I went private for a week or so b/c...well...here's the story: I got an email from this Doorstep loans telling me, "Congratulations! Your blog has been featured." At first I was expecting it to be my cooking blog, which ok, that's fine. But when I clicked on the link, I found it was my family blog! Anybody could click on it, along w/ several other blogs, and rate them! I looked at the other blog names and I did not like what I saw. I did not want my blog featured along side the others. Cameron and I then decided to go private until we could figure out what to do. I emailed the company 3 times to tell them to remove my blog from their website but have not heard back. I've decided to put my blog back up and see what happens. If I notice a lot of unexpected traffic, I might decide to permanently go private :( Which I really, really do not want to do! So, that's the story! And for now, I'm back up and running!

T Shaped Window Curtains

Remember back in March when I asked the question about what type of curtains to use for Connor's T shaped window pictured below?

Well I finally came up w/ something! I was at Ikea today and found these! They're going out of stock soon so they're marked down a lot! I saw how long they were and decided I could make curtains for the middle window and little ones that still match for the sides. I couldn't rest until I was done w/ the project, I worked all afternoon on it! I measured the windows, measured the fabric and cut. Then I hemmed the bottoms of each panel and tops of the smaller panels. I then cut the tabs in half at the top of the curtains and used them for the shorter panels. I then sewed them on and sewed the cut tabs back down. (Does this make any sense at all?) Oh, there's still extra fabric left over! They were that long!

Here's what I came up w/! The 2 blue straps came w/ it. Worked out pretty good huh?

Here they are closed. Oh, I got the curtain (or should I say fabric ;) for $14.99 and the rod for $9.99. Pretty cheap project right? At least I thought so.

The colors go great w/ Connor's bedding. I'm excited to see how this works w/ the morning sun shining through. And there ya go, my solution to my T shaped window problem!

My 1st Ever Quilt!

My friend Suzy (the one w/ the rabbits) randomly told me she quilts (after seeing one of my mother-in-laws beautiful quilts) and offered to teach me how! We decided it best to start out w/ a rag quilt. We went through all my scraps and hers and came up w/ a pattern. I ended up cutting some fabric the wrong size, so I had to buy some extra fabric to add to it. So, total cost of this quilt was $6, the price of the extra fabric and the backing.

All the squares finished and ready to be put together. 6 squares and 3 strips in the center. I had everything but the blue polka-dot and the blue backing and Suzy gave me the red polka-dot scraps.

And sewing. I will show you the finished project later. There is a lot of cutting and snipping after the sewing is all done, I thought it was so easy until all the cutting! My hand is still sore! I am done w/ everything, except for the last row.

July has been a pretty busy month, but a lot calmer than the past 2, so it's been great! Here's just a few things we've done.

My cousin Robby and his wife Kelsey came and visited 23rd-27th. We had a lot of fun. I'm just sad this is the only picture I took. We went to Trafalga, which was a lot of fun.

Cam and I got to go on a much needed date, probably the longest date sense having kids. We went to Tucano's Brazilian Restaurant (I had a free entree for the month of July for my birthday), then we went to the driving range (my first time ever, a lot of fun!), and finally ended our night at the movies to watch Harry Potter (I used my Groupon Fandango tickets, 2 for $9). It was so nice to get out and spend so much time alone w/ Cameron.

My 27th Birthday/Fourth of July Weekend!!

My birthday, once again, was celebrated as a birthday weekend! I can't believe I am now 27! But, that's ok, last year was the weird b-day for me, turning 26 mad me officially closer to 30 than 20.

On Saturday, July 2nd, my in-laws volunteered to watch the boys in Park City while Cameron and I went to Maxwell's East Coast Eatery, soo good! Afterward we went to the Outlet Mall for a shopping spree!! Cameron had me pick out what I wanted for my birthday :) Everyone was having great deals, up to 50% off of everything!

The next day was Sunday so we all dressed up in our 4th of July best! (I didn't realize at the time that I had a tiny little fingerprint smudge on my lens. That's why it's blurry. Oh and excuse my hair, I didn't realize it was sticking out.)

We took a somewhat better one indoors. Too bad it's blurry!

The next morning (on my actual birthday) I woke up to a yummy breakfast of Swedish Pancakes made by my lovely husband, Cameron.

Right after we got ready for our 1st ever neighborhood Independence Parade. (A couple of of my friends put it together.)

All the kids were supposed to decorate some sort of bike or something, but our kids were the only ones who ended up walking. We didn't have time, but that's ok. Aren't they adorable in their red, white and blue while holding their flags?

Afterward, the adults threw out candy, gave out snow cones...

And the adults got to participate in an egg toss. Cameron and I were 3rd to last to get out. (We are in the back, I'm in the process of catching the egg.) Afterward I was talking to one of my friends only to start hearing singing. I didn't pay much attention to it until someone called my name out, I looked around and found a big group of ppl standing in front of me singing, "Happy Birthday." It was great!

Afterward we put the boys down for a nap and one of the Young Women from my ward babysat, as a birthday present, so Cameron could take me out to lunch.

After that, we went to our HOA funded neighborhood 4th of July Celebration in the park. They had a lot of blow up bouncy slides and mazes. Carnival games, food and fun!

I had to go through too, Connor needed lots of help, not b/c I wanted too ;)

I actually didn't like most of it b/c it was all wet. There was one big water slide so all the wet kids went through all the regular blow up toys too and got it wet.

Finally after a few hours of fun at the park we went home for cake and presents. The boys made me wear this party hat.

Cameron got me a yummy cheesecake and sliced fresh strawberries for me! It was great!

Afterward we and our friends, the Duckworths, joined us for fireworks. We went to an empty lot and watched the Thanksgiving Point firework show. There were tons of fireworks going off all over the valley, it was beautiful!! It sprinkled a bit while we waited, but it was still a lot of fun.

My night ended w/ Connor falling asleep in my lap! I loved it, like a dream come true. He hardly sits still long enough for me to cuddle him, let alone to fall asleep. All Cameron could say was, "Happy Birthday." And yes, all my wishes did come true :) Thanks Cameron, boys and Duckworths! I love you Cameron, you always make my day (weekend) so much fun! It was a long, long day, but well worth it.

Girl's Camp '11

Last week I had the opportunity to go to girls camp. It was a lot of fun! I went up w/ the girls on the school bus (yes that's right school bus, I don't know why I was expecting a charter bus. I guess b/c whenever I was in the youth and we traveled on buses, which was not often at all, it was a nice charter. So I was let's just say, a little surprised ;) bright and early in the morning. It was so much harder for me to leave my family this year, I was not expecting that at all! I was so excited to go, but for some reason I felt so guilty and sad to leave, I might or might not have shed a few tears when Cameron dropped me off. It didn't help that I didn't get to see the boys or talk to them the whole first day!! I could not find anywhere w/ signal, until late that night, after the boys had gone to bed. I found one single spot, that usually worked for me the rest of camp. Oh, we got to go to Heber Valley LDS Girls Camp, so it was out in the middle of no where but beautiful! (The service missionaries that ran the camp told us that it was dedicated as a temple w/o a roof and was sacred grounds. It is run by the temple committee! I found this blog that explains all about this amazing camp first hand.) We did tons of fun activities, which you'll see below. And I got to stay until late, late, late Thursday night (I didn't get home until 2 in the mornin!) The girls got home around noon on Friday, so I practically stayed the whole time.

This was sitting outside our cabin door when we arrived. Our ward girls were the Pirates of Traverse Mountain. Our stake them was "Coming to your senses."

Our wonderful ward camp leader, Emily, made everything to go along w/ our theme! She was amazing! This was the other side of the flag.

To the left you can see what PIRATES stood for. Isn't the banner adorable?! I forgot to take pictures of the bunk beds and the outside of the cabin.

For our first night devotional we got to hear from Hilary Weeks and Kris Belcher. They are 2 amazing women!! Hilary Week sings the beautiful song, "He Hears Me" and the most beautiful rendition of "I am a Child of God" I've ever heard! Kris was so funny and uplifting about her life and being blind and how to trust in the Lord.

The next day we hiked to a lake. The girls got to canoe while the leaders paddle boated. These were the 2 wonderful ladies that put our ward camp activities together, Carly and Emily. Seriously amazing ladies, I was happy to get to know them better!

We got to take part in the Challenge Course. I got to be in charge of a specific course called "Shark Island." It was a lot of fun, but after I finished I got to do the ropes course, which was tons of fun!

I had to hold on by these hanging ropes, one after another until I got across to the platform to...

the zip line! I've done zip lines in the past and it was always a lot of fun, but I was encouraged to go down backwards this time! It was so hard for me to just fall. I think I stood up there for at least 5 minutes trying to fall, but couldn't let go!

Finally I did! I was so happy that I pushed my self to try something new, it was fun once the shock of falling had passed.

That night we got to roast marshmallows. But, due to a horrible, cold, thunderstorm rolling in, we had to do it under a covered area, not over the camp fire as intended.

We had a lot of crafts we got to do as a ward.

Thursday we all decided to fix our hair and decorate ourselves alike. These were all the leaders who attended L-R: Chelsi (the president), Me (Beehive Advisor), Jamie (1st Counselor), Kychelle (Showed up Wed. Night, Secretary), Emily and Carly.

Emily made every one of us these cute backpacks to carry everything around in at camp. The last night the stake yw leaders encouraged us to donate them to the children in an orphanage in India. I'm pretty sure every single girl and women from the stake gave up their bags. It was sad to give away, but great to know that these children are going to be so excited.

That night was also bishopric night, when all the bishops come to camp and we do activities as wards. Before we split up into wards, they did a Bishops Challenge. It was Minute to Win It Games, they were split up in 5 groups, each using one of the 5 senses. Our Bishop (on the left) participated in the sense of smell challenge. It was called something about Rudolph, and they had to put a ton of Vaseline on the tips of their noses and sling the red ball up to their noses.

Our Bishopric! Bishop Stroud (he got a nose medal for winning), Brother Pat and Brother Tim. They were each so excited to participate in games! This was my favorite game, the animal game, one person was blind folded, spun around and pointed at someone and asked them to make an animal noise or impression of something/someone. They then had to guess who that person was...this continued until they guessed right. It was fun!

Later that night we had a wonderful testimony meeting by the campfire followed by a faith walk. We were the last group out of 14 wards to go though. We didn't get done until after midnight! The theme of the faith walk was Lehi's dream, it was amazing. After we got back, the leaders that had to leave (including myself) packed up and left. Like I said before, I didn't get home until 2 AM and in bed until after 2:30. I was so tired the next day, but it was so worth it! I loved every minute of girls camp and am so grateful for having the opportunity to go. Our Young Women are all so amazing. They have such strong testimonies and treat each other w/ such love and respect. I would totally do it all over again!

The next morning we said good-bye to Papa and Grandma. Thanks so much for watching the boys! They loved every minute of it and still ask for ya'll to come over. Luckily, they won't be too far away, they moved to Park City for the Summer! We've already gotten to see quite a bit of them :)

BooBoos and Father's Day II

Connor is the most accident prone kid I know! It's crazy how many times he falls, bumps into something or does something to hurt himself! I mean seriously!? Look at this face! The 2 bumps on his forehead are from 2 separate incidents all together. The rest are from when we were at a friends house, Friday June 24th, and he fell off of their small deck and landed on their window well cover! I'm just grateful they had it covered! We got him and he was bleeding everywhere. Blood was spewing from his nose, lip and mouth! I felt so bad for the little guy. But the time I was done taking care of him, it looked like I was a victim of some accident, my arms were covered in blood! It all cleared up after several days, and he's fine, I just thought this was a perfect picture to explain what kind of kid he is. Oh, notice his swollen cheek, lip and bloody nose, so sad :( His eyes were fine, for some reason he just kept closing them every time I wanted a picture, this was the best that I could get.

Because we traveled all day Father's Day and we didn't get the chance to make Cameron breakfast in bed, we (meaning I) decided to celebrate the following Sunday as well, June 26h. I made the same thing I made last year, Kneaders Peach French Toast. And then for dinner, he requested Thai Peanut Chicken Skewers that his mom and sister make. Overall, the day was better than the week before, but a stressful day. I felt bad for Cameron b/c I had to pack and get the house ready for me to leave for Girls Camp the next morning, I kinda took the stress out on him :(. Next year will be better Cameron, I promise! I love you so much, thanks for being such a wonderful Daddy to our boys. They love and adore you.

Arizona Vacation

We finally got to go on a family vacation together! Our first in over a 1 1/2 years! Cameron hasn't been able to take off of work for a while, especially since his dad's company was sold and he had to wait 4 months before taking any days off. Oh, fyi, Cameron's parents moved to AZ. So, the first day he was allowed to take off of work we did! We left first thing Saturday, June 11th, and stayed through Sunday, June 19th. We were dreading the 10 hour drive w/ the boys (mainly Connor) b/c they have been little terrors in the past. But, we were pleasantly surprised when there were no break downs. On the way there we did have to deal w/ Connor's elbow being pulled out of socket. He just let his arm sit there limp and kept whimpering. That's never happened before so we didn't know what to do! But, Cam's brother, Dave and my sister, Bonny both have children that do. So, thankfully they were able to help us. I tried what Bonny told me to do and tried to shift it back into place, and then we put it in a sling like Dave suggested. After a while of driving like this, Connor finally pulled his arm out of the sling and started using it again and was back to normal! Other than that, it was a great road trip.

And a tent w/ lots of camping supplies (pretend stuff of course).

The boys couldn't get enough of Mader, they loved it! Cade called it his "birthday."

After presents and dinner we went swimming.

The next day, Sunday June 13th, was Papa Steve's 60th birthday! We were happy to be able to celebrate w/ him.

Father's Day, June 19th! 3 Generations! It was just too bad we couldn't stay and celebrate the whole day w/ Papa. We decided to travel home this day, boring day!

Birthday Presents

This post is specifically for Gammy (my Mom). She sent presents for the boys but didn't get to see them open them, so I told her I'd take lots of pictures so she could see. The boys loved everything!

Connor's 2nd Birthday!!

We celebrated Connor's 2nd birthday Friday, June 10th. Seriously?!?! How does time fly by so fast? I know by the size of the kid he could easily be 3, but what in the world? My little baby is 2!! He has become the sweetest little guy and so easy to deal with, most the time. He is a huge Momma's boy and loves to be around me. He randomly comes up to me and gives me hugs and kisses, I love it! He adores Cade and tries to do anything he can do. He is the biggest cluts and is constantly tripping over his own feet or bumping into walls right in front of him. He's always got bumps and bruises somewhere on his body, usually on his forehead! He loves animals and gets really excited when he sees one, as long as they don't come near him. I love this little fatty, he so fun to kiss and squeeze!

I made him a special birthday breakfast consisting of pancakes and eggs. (I tried to do this for Cade's birthday but he refused to let me and only wanted cereal!!)

We spent the morning and early afternoon over at the boy's good friend's house, Ryder, and played in their little pool and splash pad.

Connor lasted A LOT longer than the rest of the kids. He played in the pool all by himself well after everyone else was done.

We went to Planet Play that evening with a few friends, Deans and Duckworths. It consisted of an all you can eat pizza buffet and arcade games, tons of fun! We had never been there before and we thought it'd be better to take them there, rather than a quiet restaurant. (We went out of town the next day so I didn't feel like cooking.) Connor's cake was an Oreo cream cake.

Cade's 3rd Birthday!!

Thursday, June 9th, we celebrated Cade's actual birthday! I can't believe he's 3 already!! He's becoming such a big boy and so independent. He likes to try to everything by himself and refuses any help, most of time. He's so loving and cuddly, when he wants to be. He's very strong willed and a great leader, but then again, he can sit back and observantly watch others do their thang (he's a very observant little guy). He's a great big brother and loves Connor so much, it's honestly a love/hate relationship, but love definitely wins. He amazes me everyday with the new things he has learned to do. I just love this little guy!

During the day we went to the Animal Farm at Thanksgiving Point with a few friends. The boys had fun riding the ponys.

This was Cade's first time riding the pony w/o me walking along side him. Such a big boy!

Connor wanted his turn so bad, but when I put him on he wanted to get off right away. I didn't let him and he eventually learned to like it. (We haven't been since last year.)

This peacock was crazy!! He was mad at one of the other birds the whole time and kept fluttering his feathers and squealing at him.

I'm pretty sure this guy is albino.

We went on our first wagon ride, I can't believe we've never gone on this before! The boys sat their quietly the whole time just looking at everything.

We ended the day with Cameron's Softball game. I didn't want to make cakes for the boys since I had already made one for their party, so I bought 2 little ones for their actual birthdays. I got Cade a yogurt bundt cake. We sang "Happy Birthday" and had him blow out his candles at the game.

We ended up going to In-n-Out for dinner after the game. And no, they don't serve corn dogs now, we bought them across the parking lot at Wienerschnitzel, a lot cheaper than the burgers and the boys like them better.

The Boy's 2nd & 3rd Birthday Party!

Cade and Connor's birthday isn't until the 9th and the 10th of this week, but we went ahead and had their birthday a little early. We celebrated w/ a few of their friends Friday, last week. I decided to have it a little early b/c every year since having them, either in the hospital or at home for parties, the weather has been cold, windy and even snowing! We're also taking our first vacation together as a family for a 1 1/2 years coming up this weekend. So, I thought, why not try it early?

I just can't believe my babies are going to be 2 and 3!!

I went with a balloon theme b/c this party was totally thrown together last minute. I think I gave everyone less than a week notice about the party. I would've planned a few weeks early, but I went to TN last minute instead, so that took all of my attention. I was totally inspired by these invitations I found at Target, and was then able to find lots of decor that went along.

Due to the horrible weather we had last year, I decided to go ahead and tell everyone (on the back of the card) to come to my house in case that happened again.

I totally had bought balloons, but it turned out to be so windy that my $6 balloons all flew away! Yeah, it was such a nice day until the party started. Then the wind started blowing like crazy. At least it wasn't snowing!

I made the boys a yummy ice cream cake. I needed color and Bonny totally gave me the idea to polka dot it w/ skittles. Oh, and she also told me about these great new writing pens to write w/!

It was so windy that I couldn't get the candles to light. Cade was so sad :(

It was sad for me b/c every time I asked Cade what he wanted for his birthday all he would do is act like he was blowing out candles. Poor guy. But, I think I got one candle lit for a split second so he was able to blow that out!

Connor got over it quickly.

2 layers of devil's chocolate cake w/ the center of Moose Tracks ice cream drizzled w/ caramel and chocolate syrup. The icing is cool whip mixed with marshmallow cream.

All the gifts! Thanks so much everyone for all the great gifts and for everyone who came. The boys love everything! Just so I remember later, all the kids who came were: Owen, Ali, Londyn and Jackson, Zeke, Brooklyn and Korbin, Brooklyn and Beckam, Austin and Ryan.

Home Again...

The day after we got back from TN, we were invited to go to a birthday party at the nearby Monkey Island Fun Center. It's a lot like Kangaroo Zoo where we have been before.

The boys had recently learned about motorcycles from my brothers, so they thought they were so big and cool "riding" on these "motorcycles."

Connor finally learned how to climb the blowup toys all on his own! I was so impressed!

That night we got to have Cameron's sister, Stacie, and her family stop in and stay the night as they were passing through on their move to Seattle! It was so fun, but way too short, having them w/ us. The kids had so much fun together.

Memorial weekend we took the boys to Trafalga. We only stayed a little while, but the boys had a lot of fun. I was so proud of Cade! They said we were too tall and Connor was too short, so Cade had to go all on his own. It was a proud moment for me that he was brave enough to go on his own. Memorial day, I didn't take any pictures, but we took the boys to the mall and walked around. I found some great deals at Crazy 8 for the boys, and then we went home. That night we got a baby sitter to sit for our kids and our friends kids so we could go out and have an evening just as couples. It was a lot of fun! We went to a BBQ restaurant and then to Trafalga and played put put golf, rock climbed and lazer tag. Then we finished off the evening w/ ice cream from JCW's.
